CPT was founded in 1987 when the Concord Public Schools was awarded a Massachusetts Department of Education Grant. State grants don't last forever so, when it ended in 1991, a committed group of parents and teachers who recognized the value of CPT dedicated themselves to keeping it going! They tirelessly sought out new sources of funds so services to families and early childhood teachers would not skip a beat. And it worked!
For the next 15 years the center continued to operate as a part of the Concord schools system, cobbling together excellent programs and offerings. In 2008, recognizing the demand and support for programming that extended beyond the Concord school system, CPT became incorporated as an IRS-designated 501(c)3.
CPT is the parent education partner with the Concord Public School District and the Concord-Carlisle Regional School District ... and also reaches out to all interested teachers and parents throughout the region to support them in what we believe is the most important work in the world: the care and education of children .... so all children thrive!
To support its work with parents and teachers, CPT relies on individual donations, and grants from community organizations such as the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest, Healthy Concord, Concord - Carlisle Regional School District, The Bradford Mills, Concord Printing, Woodman & Eaton PC, CCHS Parents Association, CMS PTG, Elementary PTGs, First Parish Church in Concord, and Lahey Clinic/CHNA 15. Love what we do? Help us do even more through a tax deductible donation given online at the Supporting CPT tab on this website. Thank You!
