The Center for Parents and Teachers is dedicated to partnering with regional and local organizations so that our efforts are maximally effective. CPT is an active member of the "Central/South Middlesex Opiod Task Force", a collaboration under the leadership of District Attorney Marian Ryan. The efforts we are making as part of this regional collaboration are to address the heroin epidemic, a rising crisis in our Commonwealth -- affecting teens, parents and young children.
CPT is a collaborative partner in "Healthy Concord", a local initiative initially funded by a grant through Lahey Hospital. A focal point of the work of this committee is to address high levels of stress in our community - and what effective interventions can be put in place to give participants tools to reduce stress and build resilience. Members of the original Healthy Concord Taskforce were from the Concord Health Department, the Concord Police Department, Emerson Hospital, the Concord-Carlisle Regional School District, Concord Youth Services and other local social service agencies.
CPT also participates in the CAPA (the Concord Area Preschool Association), a group of educators from area towns (Concord, Carlisle, Bedford, Lincoln) to support each other in the important work of creating exemplary early childhood experiences. This group helps inform CPT on relevant topics for its professional development offerings. CAPA also offers eligible parents in need financial support for preschool tuition at local child care centers.
CPT is an active member on the Regional Council of the EEC-funded (MA Dept. of Early Education and Care) 12 town Committee for the CFCE Grant (Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Grant). The work done by this committee, under the direction of First Connections (located in Acton) is to support families in the care of very young babies and young children through exemplary programs, workshops and one-on-one support of parents.
To support its work with parents and teachers, CPT relies on individual donations, and grants from community organizations such as the Concord-Carlisle Community Chest, Healthy Concord, Concord - Carlisle Regional School District, The Bradford Mills, Concord Printing, Woodman & Eaton PC, CCHS Parents Association, CMS PTG, Elementary PTGs, First Parish Church in Concord, and Lahey Clinic/CHNA 15. Love what we do? Help us do even more through a tax deductible donation given online at the Supporting CPT tab on this website. Thank You!
