Many children come into our classrooms from home feeling stressed and, often, a bit “overwhelmed”.
What can we as educators do to reduce their anxiety … and the behavioral challenges they exhibit?
As it turns out there is quite a lot we can do that will have a positive impact!

Today’s busier, faster, supersized society is waging an undeclared war . . . on childhood. As the pace of life accelerates to hyperspeed – with too much stuff, too many choices, and too little time – children feel the pressure. They can become anxious, have trouble with friends and school, or may even be diagnosed with behavioral problems. During our day with international expert Kim John Payne we will explore the benefits of “The Simplified Classroom”.  You will learn ideas on how to create a more calm and predictable environment that offers the space, simplicity and freedom children need, allowing the child’s individuality to shine and their attention to flourish.

Our presenter, Kim John Payne, has been quietly and passionately working to help tens of thousands of people, from Asia to Europe to the Americas, give voice to the feeling that something is not okay about the new normal of overwhelm that so many are now experiencing. He offers do-able ways to realize the hopes we all have for the children in our care, by building deep connections, fostering resiliency and experiencing the joys of simplicity.
An Australian, Kim was originally trained as an Early Childhood Educator.  He has, for 24 years, worked throughout the world as a counselor, consultant/researcher and educator of both children and adults. The author of many books, including the #1 best-selling parenting book Simplicity Parenting, he has been helping families and educators explore issues such as social difficulties with classmates, attention and behavioral issues at home and school, and emotional issues such as defiance, aggression, and low self-esteem. Soon to be published: his new book The Simplified Classroom.
